Bob Casey Constituent Breakfast
Senator Casey has constiuent Breakfasts nearly every month, and you actually get an opportunity to speak to him as well as his legislative aides who are his eyes and ears.
It would be great to see more Peace Activists from all over the state visiting him in DC!
From Senator Casey's website:
Breakfast With Bob
"I'd like to invite you to join me for my next constituent reception on Thursday, January 29, from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM in the Senate Russell Office Building, Room 385. I will be there to speak with the people of Pennsylvania. My staff will also be available, and light refreshments will be served. If you are unable to make this reception, there will be more both in Washington, DC and in Pennsylvania. Please check back again for the details of the next reception."
If you can't make the inauguration festivities, this would be a great time to "put your orders in" for the direction of this new administration. Delaware River Area CodePINK leaves from the Philly area at 5:30AM SHARP. Take the day off and hang out for actions with CodePINK afterwards.
Another option for those farther out is to reserve a space at the CodePINK house or the PDA house on Wednesday night in order to make the trip more manageable. CodePINK has a Wednesday night potluck open to all activists in the DC area.
Let us know if you would like to join us--or for more info: Debi@busforchange.com

Pa. high court allows voting-machine suit to proceed
By Amy Worden
Inquirer Harrisburg Bureau
HARRISBURG - The fate of electronic voting machines used in most Pennsylvania counties will be decided by a state court. A decision by the state Supreme Court this week denying an appeal filed by the secretary of the commonwealth clears the way for Commonwealth Court to determine whether touch-screen machines violate the state election code.
"It allows, finally, the courts to review whether the secretary of the commonwealth complied with his obligation to ensure that the Pennsylvania system of voting is reliable and safe," said Michael Churchill, an attorney for the 25 voters who sued the agency claiming the machines are flawed.
The case is the latest development in a debate being played out in courtrooms and legislatures across the country over the reliability of electronic voting machines, adopted by many states over the last six years.

PA Action Network
PA Action Network encourages the exchange of ideas, expertise and resources between group members. PA Action Network has created this online and technical infrastructure whereby local groups can work closely with other Pennsylvania groups and their members by recruiting other groups to endorse, participate and co-sponsor their projects. This site seeks to facilitate resource sharing, increased communication and encourage seamless action execution among member organizations.
PA Action Network, as represented in this website, does not represent a coalition at this time and will not endorse actions. Member organizations can band together and endorse actions, but PA Action Network will not. This structure emphasizes the cooperative function of the organizations using this tool, focusing on providing resources, enhancing communication and creating opportunities for peace and justice organizations across the state to work in close cooperation to execute common actions. At this time, PA Action Network will not normally be an instrument to form a common policy under a single organizational name.
This structure is designed to allow member organizations the greatest possible flexibility in sponsoring projects and affiliating with projects which other groups sponsor, thus creating actions with statewide impact, without creating divisions within the Pennsylvania activist community.
